Recording from a DAT into Pro Tools or Peak via the O2R

To digitally record from one of the Panasonic SV3700 DAT machines into the O2R and then pass the signals through to Protools or Peak for recording to hard disk, do the following:

EMS II only: On the digital patchbay, patch from DAT OUT to 2TR D1 IN. (In EMS III, the DAT machine is already hard-wired to the 2TR D1 Input of the O2R.)

On the digital I/O page of the O2R:

    1. Set the Word clock to originate from the 2TR D1 (cursor to the box and highlight, then press Enter)
    2. Set Line 17/18 to be 2TR-IN D1
    3. Set MIC 1-8 to CARD SLOT 3.

On the Routing Page of the O2R:

    1. Set channels 17/18 to bus outs 1/2*. This will automatically route it to Pro Tools IN 1/2*
    2. Take channels 17/18 OFF the stereo bus.

Turn on input channels 17/18 and bring up faders.

Set Pro Tools to record on channels 1/2*.

On the O2R, turn on the input channels 1/2* and bring up the faders.

Hit record in Pro Tools ...

* - change as needed for recording on tracks other than 1/2.
